Winter in Oklahoma does whatever it wants. It might roll in as early as October or sneak up in February. Either way, when it finally shows up, it’s like, “Surprise! Hope you weren’t expecting consistency.” But here’s the thing: even in the colder months, Sno Trips doesn’t stop. Because shaved ice isn’t just for summer—it’s for anyone bold enough to pair mittens with marshmallow fluff. Plus, isn’t life about balance? A warm coat in one hand and a cool sno cone in the other feels like the perfect winter vibe. And as Cisco Ramon would say “Don’t underestimate the power of a good vibe.”
We’ll admit, winter slows us down in some ways. There aren’t as many festivals, and people tend to lean into hot drinks instead of icy treats. But in our just as passionate Kendrick Lamar tone, please “Don’t kill [our] vibe.” So, don’t think we’re just hibernating—winter is still a busy time for us, just in a different way.

Private Events Keep Us Busy
Winter might take away the big crowds, but we get to bring the sno magic to smaller, more personal settings. Whether that’s school events, corporate parties, or special celebrations- winter themed weddings are one of my faves. And nothing beats the look on someone’s face when they realize we’re still serving up icy, flavorful goodness—even when the weather says otherwise. Oh, and the look they give when someone else’s order comes out the window- “Well, I was in line for a hot chocolate, but I want whatever they got.” It’s music to our ears.
Now, don’t get us wrong—serving shaved ice in winter comes with its challenges. Like when you’re setting up the trailer in 40-degree weather, trying to keep your hands warm while pouring syrup. (Pro tip: gloves are not syrup-proof.) And Oklahoma weather loves to keep us guessing. One day we’re serving in a t-shirt, and the next, we’re dodging snowflakes. But hey, we roll with it—literally.
Big Dreams at Sno Trips HQ
When we’re not at events, winter is our season of dreaming and planning. And this year, we’re tackling our biggest project yet: building our very own Sno Trips HQ- or something like that.
We’ve officially signed the lease on a building, and we’re turning it into a shaved ice wonderland. Picture storage shelves loaded with syrups, a prep space that would make Martha Stewart proud, and maybe even a Sno cone-inspired selfie wall. We’re making this space fun, functional, and totally us.
The planning process has been equal parts exciting and chaotic. One minute, we’re talking about flooring; the next, someone’s suggesting a Sno-themed disco ball. (It’s still under debate, but we’re leaning toward yes- maybe.) At the end of the day, this building is more than just a space—it’s a home base for everything Sno Trips stands for: fun, creativity, and a whole lot of flavor.
Winter (W)ins and (L)aughs
Winter also gives us time to reflect on the moments that have kept us laughing all year. Like the time we had to store our flavors in the freezer but realized we forgot to thaw them out as we were opening our window at the start of an event. We definitely weren't laughing at that moment. Or when we overfilled a bowl and turned a shaved ice into a Sno waterfall. (Friendly Reminder: less is more... sometimes.)
But it’s not all bloopers and giggles—this season is also about pushing ourselves to grow. We’re experimenting with new flavors, updating our systems, and making big plans for next season. Because when the busy season hits, we want to be ready for anything—whether it’s a long line of customers or a surprise rainstorm at an outdoor event.
Join the Adventure
Winter may slow us down, but it also gives us the chance to regroup, dream big, and share this journey with you. Whether you’re a year-round Sno lover or someone who just enjoys following along, we’re so glad you’re here.
So, bundle up and stick with us. Big things are happening at Sno Trips, and we can’t wait to share them with you—one syrupy, sticky, sweet step at a time.
